PictureExcuse my hair it was wash day-I just trimmed my ends though, nice and blunt!
What's poppin pretty ladies!
Obviously I've waited to get my hands on Unicorn Tears for a while-it's a little bit of a splurge at $22 a pop but it's so pretty! I'm sure that by now, you all know what it looks like-Unicorn Tears looks blue in the tube and comes out in an iridescent purple shimmer. Actually, I'd say it's more than a shimmer, there is some definite sparkle going on, It's buildable and definitely moisturizing in my opinion.

The real reason for this post is because when I was trying to figure out whether or not to buy it, I couldn't find very many swatches of it on people who were even remotely close to my skin tone. Anyone not of European descent has been there, I'm sure!

So. Friggin. Frustrating.

I found one video by PopSugar-which you can see here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ov3Z_bSaviw-where they test it out on three different skin types-fair, medium and dark. Unfortunately for me, I fall somewhere in between their version of medium and dark. Happens all the time.

In the end I decided to just bite the bullet, buy the lipstick and swatch it myself! This post is for anyone with a skin tone similar to mine in case you're still wondering whether or not to pick it up-you're welcome!

I took the picture below in front of a window-bright natural lighting.

One layer has a fantastic amount of pigment, with my lips coming out this amazing frosty purple-blue-pink. Uh, purblink, if you will. If you build it up, it comes out more blue. It's definitely a gorgeous color and you gotta love that packaging!

I do love the formula; it's smooth, velvety and not sticky at all. The rest of the Too Faced La Creme line comes in such ho hum colors that are likely easily duped, so I don't think they're worth the splurge. Unicorn Tears is a different story, obviously!

Of course, Wet N Wild's dupe, Unicorn Soul is burning a hole in my mind but they're always out of stock! As soon as it's back in stock you can bet your butter I will be ordering one! (Bet your butter. Who says that? No one says that.)

Thanks for reading! If you've tried Unicorn Tears, what did you think? What other lippies are you in love with right now? Leave a comment and let me know!
