Okay, so I did that thing where I take an unplanned hiatus and then come back with no explanation. But then again, who's really reading this? (By the way, if you ARE reading this, welcome!)
Today's post is just going to be a short little blurb that's going to work as a manifestation of my latest realization. I was wondering when was the best time to get back to my hobbies, when I should get back to blogging, crafting etc.
I think too often, as humans, we tend to try and hold ourselves to ideals, to unrealistic plana, to standard that aren't always realistic or achievable. BUT just because those certain ideals may not necessarily be feasibly or reasonably achievable doesn't mean that other things aren't. Even if you can't do what you want to do exactly how or when or where you want to do it, do it anyway! If you're wondering when is the best time to start something new, there really isn't one.
I think I'm just sort of babbling here so let me explain. Before I learned how to tell when people were wearing fake hair, I used to try and achieve really unrealistic hairstyles, thinking that the styles I was trying to emulate were just people who had really perfect hair and expensive hairstylists.
So then when I couldn't achieve those things, I just sort of figured that I couldn't do it so why bother? I started throwing my hair up in buns on top of my head and just leaving it at that.
BUT, I posted this picture to my Instagram the other day (some shameless self-promo here-follow me, @loveberrilife) and I realized after the fact that my hair looks pretty bomb-even if it's not perfect.
I am growing my hair out but I didn't wait to create this post until I had grown it out, or until I'd had a haircut. I just did it and you know what? It's done and it came out great.
I think what I'm trying to say is, don't wait to do whatever it is you're trying to do until it's "perfect" or until the conditions are "just right" because they usually never are and may never be. If you wait until the "right moment" you may never do anything!
Don't wait until payday. Don't wait until you lose the weight. Don't wait until everything is perfect. We rarely ever witness a perfect storm but if you haven't noticed there are plenty of other storms that happen in the meantime. So don't wait. Don't. Do it today, because the only thing you have to lose is time.
